On Saturday 22 October 2022, Museum of the Home in East London hosted a family day of making, dancing and food to celebrate Diwali.
This year they partnered with award-winning performance company Nutkhut to create an intergenerational day to rejoice in all things Diwali. Visitors can learn how to make a sustainable lantern and join our twilight lantern parade, decorate a diya, dance like a Bollywood star or design a Rangoli.
Light Up The Museum - a series of major light installations in the Museum gardens and on the Museum façade have been arranged to bring light and brightness to the cold winter months.
These will include Chila's Laxmi and Winter Melon by Jessica Hung Han Yun. The scultpures will be on display throughout the winter.
